The first part of this course will introduce the students to iconography, offering a basic understanding of how and why an icon is written. After this, the hands-on part will commence. A balance between theoretical inputs and hands-on practice will be kept throughout the course in a manner that students can experiment with various processes and techniques whilst writing their own icons. This is a simulation of the actual icon writing process and therefore some material that is normally used will be substituted with alternatives to allow participants to get a feel of the process in a concise period. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the spiritual aspect of the icon writing process originating in Eastern traditions, and upon completion of the writing and relevant catechesis, there will be the opportunity for blessing of the work.

This interactive course is designed to equip participants with creative tools to engage and inspire audiences through puppeteering, storytelling, scripting, and science experiments. Rooted in Christian principles, the course integrates hands-on learning to help participants effectively share biblical messages and Christian values in dynamic and memorable ways. Our relationship with God is not supposed to stay within the walls of our parish church when we leave after Sunday Mass. In this course, Living Beyond Sunday, we explore how the liturgy, as the source and summit of Christian life, can inspire and shape our daily living. The course invites adults to discover how the rhythm of the liturgical year offers a spiritual framework that can be lived out beyond the church walls.
